Painting Cranes Art Supply list: Please pay attention to my video for organization!

Set up a felt on a flat table surface, then paper towels under your flower plate, and water cup.

Brushes: (use a brush rest to organize your brushes)

Extra Fine tip for the eye & beak for the crane.

Flower tail for the red dot on the crane.

Wolf King for black ink of the wings.

Rooster tail for the light gray part of the wings.

Long mountain horse brush for legs.

A flat blending plate to check your color loading.

A flower plate to put your colors.

Watercolor Paints: Crimson red, light gray, and black ink.

Paper choices: 1st choice use single or double shuen (rice paper), sketch paper or mixed media.

Tips for Sun, Pine, and Cranes composition 2 options:

  1. Leave the background white, create sun, pine, then cranes.
  2. If you want colorful sunset background, paint cranes first and then paint sunset & color washes around the cranes. Be careful not to use too much water around the cranes, to avoid color bleeding.
